In picture perfect conditions NSW XC skiers rose to the occasion at the ACT and NSW Championships enjoying great success over the weekend.
On Saturday the ACT Classic Championships were held with NSW skiers winning all events. The Open Men's 10km was won by NSWIS and Australian skier Ben Sim, with Callum Watson winning the Men's Junior Event.
The Ladies 5km event was won by NSWIS and Australian skier Aimee Watson with Lucy Glanville taking out the Junior Women's.
In an impressive first time on the podium, Gabriella Cigana beat strong Victorian skier Anna Trnka, to take first place in the Girls 2.5km U14 event.
On Sunday more impressive results for NSW skiers eventuated in the NSW Freestyle Championships.
Ben Sim and Callum Watson again won the Open and Junior Men's 10km event, but there were also some strong performances in the minor placings and younger age groups.
In the Junior Men, Colby Rook skied the best race of season so far to finish 2nd, while Lachlan Porter was successful in winning the U14 Boys and Damon Morton the U12 Boys.
The NSW Women also kept the momentum going with Aimee Watson and Lucy Glanville repeating their success of the previous day and Gabriella Cigana fighting a tough battle with Victorian U14 Anna Trnka to come in 2nd in the U14 2.5km Girls event by just over 10 secs.
