Security guard apprehended

A 29-year-old man has been arrested following an assault outside the Banjo Paterson Inn in Jindabyne on Saturday, September 20.

The incident occurred at 2am when the security guard working outside the establishment assaulted a 42-year-old Sydney man.

Following a police investigation the offender was arrested on September 26 and taken to Jindabyne Police Station where he was issued with a court attendance notice to appear before Cooma Local Court on November 19.

Jindabyne police would like to thank the community for assistance in providing information into the incident.

Drugs charges

Over the long weekend local police in conjunction with the Monaro Drug Unit and Target Action Group executed a number of search warrants in Jindabyne and Cooma.

The searches resulted in the seizure of a quantity of prohibited drugs.

A number of people have been charged with drug offences and will appear at Cooma Local Court at a later date.

Police have requested anyone with information pertaining to the possession and supply of illegal drugs to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Thieves escape with hoard of property

Some time between September 25 and Monday this week a house in Bungarra Lane Jindabyne was broken into and a large amount of property was stolen.

Jindabyne police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Jindabyne Police Station on 6456 2244.
