Dividing wall falls on children

7/08/2008 6:43:00 PM
Three school children from the Gold Coast Kings Christian College at Reedy Creek were taken by the Snowy Hydro SouthCare helicopter to Cooma Hospital after a dividing wall fell on them in the Memorial Hall at Jindabyne, on Wednesday night, August 6.

The three boys were part of 130 children from the college attending an annual school trip to Canberra and the NSW snowfields.

Police said that the boys were leaning against the dividing wall and it fell on top of five children who were treated at the scene.

Of the three that went to Cooma Hospital two have now been released.

The remaining boy is believed to have neck injuries and may need to be transferred to Canberra Hospital.

The Memorial Hall has been closed by Snowy River Shire Council.
