IF you love rummaging through books, the 2008 Lions Book Fair won’t disappoint.

Singleton Showground doors opened to a waiting crowd yesterday morning, keen to snap up a bargain.

There are literally thousands of items to be sold and volunteers emphasize they want it sold.

What doesn’t sell has to be packed up and after three days on their feet at the book fair, Lions Club members won’t be wanting too much work when the fair closes at 5pm on Saturday.

The average novel will sell for about $2 and you will pick up some fantastic childrens books for as little as 50 cents.

You will find CDs, DVDs, sheet music, sewing patterns and a huge range of books of all types on sale.

Encyclopedias, fiction and non fiction, childrens books, HSC study books, you name it you will find it at the book fair.

Proceeds of this year’s event goes towards Lions projects and Lifeline.

Every year volunteers are surprised by the quality of books donated each year.

The book fair is open from 9am to 5pm today and tomorrow.
